The University of Oxford’s Department of Social Policy and Intervention and Institute for New Economic Thinking are seeking to appoint three researchers to work with PI Professor Brian Nolan on a new multi-year collaborative research programme on Distributional National Accounts (DINA) together with teams led by Professors Thomas Piketty (Paris School of Economics) and Emmanuel Saez (Berkeley), supported by a Synergy Grant from the European Research Council. A Senior Research Officer and a Postdoctoral Research Officer will work on a broad range of topics analysing inequality through the lens of distributional national accounts, and will be particularly suited (but not confined) to those with a background in economics or quantitative social policy. Another Postdoctoral Research Office position is joint with the Leverhulme Centre on Demographic Science at Nuffield College and the Department of Sociology to investigate the complex dynamic inter-relationships between economic inequality and demography, and will be particularly suited (but not confined) to quantitative sociologists or demographers. These are full-time 3 year fixed term positions.
