Workshop on Wealth Inequality, Intergenerational Mobility, and Equality of Opportunity

November 21 – 22, 2024, Vienna

The Research Institute Economics of Inequality at the WU – Vienna University of Economics and Business, the International Inequalities Institute at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and ZEW – Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research, are pleased to announce a jointly organized workshop on Wealth Inequality, Intergenerational Mobility, and Equality of Opportunity.

We cordially invite submissions of papers on the measurement, causes, and consequences of wealth inequality, intergenerational mobility, and equality of opportunity.

This two-day workshop aims to be an interdisciplinary event. We particularly encourage submissions from economists, sociologists, and closely related disciplines. Attendees can expect to engage with around 40 participants working on closely related topics and questions.

Keynote speakers are:

  • Susan Dynarski (Patricia Albjerg Graham Professor of Education, Harvard University)
  • Fabian Pfeffer (Professor of Sociology, LMU Munich)
